Wolf of Wall Street, WHERE TO BEGIN. First and foremost the movie is based off of the real life of Jordan Belfort. The movie depicts the rise and chaotic decline of Jordan Belfort. This movie is based off of his book, also named Wolf of Wall Street, and depicts a lot of the real life things he did. The cast includes Leonardo DiCaprio as the main character, Jonah Hill as the right hand man, Margot Robbie as the young wife, and even a brief cameo from Matthew McConaughey. It is filled with drama, comedy, and I would even consider it to be somewhat a biography of Jordan Belfort. Although let us keep in mind this man made a fortune off of defrauding millionaires so maybe take some of the factual events with a grain of salt.
I will say, this movie is certainly not everyone's cup of tea..for me personally I view movie's as entertainment.. the movie can come off as glamorizing his hedonistic life..but let us remember he goes down in the end (Cred to the FBI)..
One of the most..not powerful..but eyeopening events to take place..is the ending scene..he mentions being scared about going to jail, but then says "I forgot I was rich." The camera then pans the jail, which had its inmates playing tennis matches!! INSANE that someone who stole millions goes to a comfy jail, but others who were possibly arrested for marijuana(before it was legal) Were sometimes sent away for almost a LIFETIME.
Random facts:
IN the movie he sinks his yacht..THIS DID HAPPEN IN REAL LIFE
Jonah Hill had to be hospitalized from the amount of fake drugs he was doing for the movie.. aka whatever fake powder they had him snorting.
I love the behind the scenes commentary
This has to be one of the best movies i have ever seen, and the fact what goes on in the movie isn't even some of the most horrid things Jordan has done just makes the story even more interesting. And I did not know that about Jonah Hill, I guess that goes to show the amount of dedication he had for this movie, this was a great read.
