Silver Linings playbook opens up with a recently diagnosed bipolar Pat(played by Bradley Cooper). For someone who is hospitalized due to his disorder and who just beat the crap out of his wife’s new boyfriend, he is unreasonably upbeat. In one of the opening scenes, we can see he is skipping his meds. (Perhaps explaining the mania he is experiencing)
From the beginning we see his one driving motivation is making things right with his wife, but it comes off as misguided and obsessive.
We find a divorced Pat, back at home, living with parents who are scared he is going to lose his cool again. Once he is out he meets Tiffany(Jennifer Lawrence), who herself has her own problems. Recently widowed, she has almost wrecked her own life in the ways she chose to deal with it. However, she seems a bit more advanced in the healing process than Pat is. She embraces not only her good side and actions, but also embraces the not so great behaviors she has partook in. But in a weird way, we already want to see them together.(at least I did) The audience can see Pat is drawn to her in a way, but he doesn’t want to be unfaithful to his ex-wife. Clearly still airing on the side of his delusions. Tiffany and Pat begin to spend time together as he agrees to help her prepare for a semi-professional dance contest. Neither of which are professional dancers, inserting the some light-hearted comedy. He does this so she will return the favor by communicating a letter (which would violate his restraining order from the ex-wife - YES I said restraining order).
The climax will hang on the thread of a parlay bet, and the score of Pat and Tiffany’s dance will affect it, although I won’t spoil the ending for you.
It may not have been clear at first, but Pat finds his silver lining and it leads him to happiness. With great actors like Robert Deniro, Jennifer Lawrence, and Bradley Cooper, you cannot go wrong with at least trying out the movie.
Although a comedy, the movie is very real with real life problems and diseases: OCD, bipolar, depression, addiction. It gives you the feel of real life problems, with a realistic family, and uplifting comedy.
What's your silver lining?

Ok, a comedy with mental health at the crux? Is it really a comedy? Now I am intrigued.
I seen this movie it is great! You described it very good
Snappy piece, the brevity really worked in your favor here I feel.
